All The Difference

A case for the road less traveled.

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
-Robert Frost

Friends tell me my path is a bit less traveled than some. I certainly hope this is true. Why have this space? I suppose it gives you the chance to see if my path is truly different.

I am writing to convince you this path is worth the cost. You see, I am not the first down this path, and I certainly hope to encourage others to take this trail. Because it is worth the trouble.

The road I mention might not be as you expect. I can promise it is rough, dirty, and not always the easiest path. But, this road has meaning, beauty, and a promise not offered by those more convenient routes. Hopefully by now you have begun to see that this path I am on is more than just traveling around this big blue ball. While I am doing that, and this space brings you stories from the remote, the path I speak of is bigger than a collection of world travel stories.

In my opinion, the most important path is life is following Jesus. You know- Jesus, the guy from sunday school. I promise you that my journey (and hopefully yours too) is not a boring religious exercise. If following Jesus was just some religious nonsense, I would have taken a different path years ago. I am convinced (and you begin so) that if your walk with Jesus is dull, then something is wrong.

So, what can you expect from this space? If I do my job well, I hope to show you the view from the road as I follow my Savoir. I have a passion for travel – specifically backpacking, and I am sure this will be showcased here. I also believe this path I am on is taking to greater involvement in foreign aid and plan to discuss those details as well.

Thanks for keeping me company!
